I'm Laurie and making beautiful sparkling jewelry is my passion.

I love to believe this is what I was born to do.

It all began when I was a kid and I saw the sparkles and twinkles on Cinderella’s gown. Since then I have always loved anything and everything that is sparkly.

I can remember sitting on my bed with my shoebox full of beads and jewels, just running them through my fingers.

My Mom has always said (in fact she stills says) that I have the taste of a

 Gypsy Queen and I know this is something I never want to grow out of!

I design and create everything myself in my studio in Oregon and have been doing so since 1993.

Up until 2001 I had a different business name and had been going back and forth about changing it and then one night I dreamt the name Ruby Moon.

I totally loved the sound of the name and I thought how perfect it was for my jewelry so I changed it.

I am completely enamored with the very romantic Victorian and Edwardian eras.

I love everything about these time periods from the clothing and jewelry they wore to the styles of their homes and they way they decorated them.

Looking at pictures from then it seems to me that it was 'the more the better' and I really like that!

My designs are inspired by these beautiful eras- they are lovely, delicate, lacy, and elegantly dripping with jewels, just like the people back then.

People often comment that my pieces remind them of the jewelry their Great Grandmothers and Grandmothers wore and this is absolutely the look I strive for.

I want the wearer to enjoy my jewelry for many years. 

I like to entertain the idea that my jewelry might someday be handed down because it was someone’s prized treasure. Since I would love for this to happen I take great pride and the utmost care in the construction of all my pieces. Whether I am making a tiny pair of earrings or a grand necklace they all get the same TLC.

I love it when people make a purchase for themselves but I consider it a true compliment when they buy it as a gift for a friend or loved one.

  I use only the finest crystals available~ Swarovski Austrian and Czechoslovakian. These crystals are well known for their unsurpassed beauty and quality. They sparkle and shimmer with the slightest bit of movement and light and are the centerpieces of my jewelry. It is such delight using them. 

I also use beautiful ornate metal components and findings. These pieces are all brass and they come to me shiny and bright so I send them away to be antiqued. The antiquing process takes a little time but it makes the pieces truly appear to be vintage so it's very much worth the wait.
